What do your fees pay for?

Your fees make a lot of the experiences you see on campus a possibility. They support the building of new facilities, athletic gear, MISA, and much more.

The Student Fee Advisory Board proposes an increase in Student Fees by 1.25% ($5.00) resulting in a total Student Fee amount of $404.00 for the academic year of 2022-2023.

Details of Proposed Changes

Fee Increases

Student Involvement & Leadership ($0.50 increase)
  • Findings
    • Due to the new recommendation from the state legislature, there will be salary increases which this fee contains. The $0.50 increase will cover those.
  • Benefit to Students
    • Essential to the advisement of student leaders and campus engagement
DSUSA ($1.50 increase)
  • Findings
    • 3 new stipend positions have been added
    • Continue to provide quality events for students on campus
  • Benefit to Students
    • Events, learning opportunities, funding, and leadership experience to all students
    • “Student Initiatives Fund” continues to provide students with the opportunity to bring ideas to fruition
  • Recommendation
    • Report back on new positions
    • Develop strategic plans for each branch where applicable
Health & Counseling Center ($0.50 increase)
  • Findings
    • Due to the new recommendation from the state legislature, there will be salary increases which this fee contains. The $0.50 increase will cover those.
  • Benefit to Students
    • Free mental and physical health services to all students
  • Recommendation
    • Pursue additional city and state funding
Recreation/Intramural/fitness ($1.75 increase)
  • Findings
    • Due to the new recommendation from the state legislature, there will be salary increases which this fee contains. The $0.25 increase will cover those.
  • Benefit to Students
    • Provides active/engaging opportunities to students
Student Center Operations (+$2.50)
  • Findings
    • Covers the operation and maintenance of the Gardner Center
  • Benefit to Students
    • The Gardner Center is the students’ building.
    • The operations team maintains the facility and provides a space for the use of all students.
