Dr. King pushed the boundaries of the time and Utah Tech University strives to emulate Dr. King’s trailblazing spirit by living our core values of being open, inclusive and polytechnic.
The MLK Celebration invites everyone to come together to celebrate black culture, recognize those in Southern Utah who are blazing their own trails in creating an inclusive community, and to support student scholarships.
Net proceeds from the Gala will support the Trailblazer High Need Opportunity Scholarship which benefits individuals who are in the gap of financial assistance due life’s circumstances. Examples of students who benefit from this scholarship are learners who age out of foster care, single parent learners, homeless, left or currently in a polygamous family, orphan/ward of the court, victims of violence/sexual violence/human trafficking, and more.
