Blazers Give Back!

UTSA’s Service Branch is all about connecting our Trailblazers with meaningful ways to give back to our community, engage with community partners, and supporting traveling abroad for Alternative Breaks.

Whether you are needing service hours for a class, are looking to lead a non-profit in the future, or want to give back globally, we are here for you.

UTSA Service Branch

Annually we plan and coordinate volunteers for a wide variety of service projects. These range from a few volunteers serving at the St. George Children’s Museum to hundreds coming together for Campus to Community. Whether you love serving on a small or large scale, there is something for everyone.

What is Alternative Breaks?

Alt Breaks is an opportunity to travel with your friends/other students to serve around the world! Recent trips have included serving in orphanages in Ecuador, building a home in the Dominican Republic, and serving with HOPE Humanitarian in Belize.

Our next upcoming trip will be to Chiang Mai, Thailand to serve at an elephant sancturary.

How do I get involved with the Service Branch?

We’d love to have you as one of our service team! Join UTSA’s Code Red and let them know you’d love to help with Service. This will help us get your information, contact you for upcoming projects, and start you volunteering in the community.

Also, if you’d love to help plan service opportunities – consider joining UTSA for the 2024-2025 school year. Applications will open in Mid-March!

What is Campus to Community?

This event is all about our motto “Blazers Give Back.” Each year we seek community partners and members who have service projects for us to help with. We then gather on one Saturday and send dozens of volunteers out to the community to make a difference. Its our way of saying thank you to St. George, and its amazing people, for all that they do to support Trailblazer Nation.
