Painted and Personal Values

Tuesday, March 28th
4:30-6:30 p.m., College of Education Bldg., Rm. 204

Art Coach! Bruce Hucko will guide you through an art-based lesson that leads students to writing about their personal values. Through the presentation of a featured artist, you will learn how to express your personal values and create a unique individual piece of art that reflects those. You will learn how to paint using color values–primary, secondary, and tertiary colors plus white and black. You will learn how to present this lesson to your students and engage them in this lesson about their own personal values.

Bruce is the BTS Visual Art Educator at HMK Elementary School in Moab. He received the 2016 Elementary Educator of the Year Award from the Utah Art Education Association and the Beverley Taylor Sorenson 2018 Legacy Award as the Outstanding Elementary Visual Art Educator.

Classroom materials and resources will be provided for grade-level and visual art classroom teachers.

Registrations are free of charge but required for participation. Enrollment is limited to 24 and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will receive additional information and a parking pass a few days before the workshop. After registering, if you find that you won’t be able to attend, please email amy.webb@utahtech.edu so someone else can fill your spot.
