PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH PROCESS

The process for selecting the presidents of USHE institutions is outlined in Utah law and Utah Board of Higher Education policy. That process includes the following:

Step 1

The Utah Board of Higher Education announces launch of the presidential search committee, including search committee members, professional search firm, webpage, and public meeting dates (COMPLETE)

Step 2

Public meetings held on Utah Tech’s campus to garner stakeholder feedback and gather input for the composition of the presidential leadership profile (COMPLETE)

Step 3

AGB utilizes stakeholder feedback to compile presidential leadership profile (COMPLETE)

Step 4

Applications will be accepted starting early December 2024, and the full consideration deadline is January 17, 2025. Candidates interested in expressing interest in the role before the formal application window opens are welcome to submit a letter of intent to UtahTechPresident@agbsearch.com.

Step 5

Search Committee reviews applications and selects semifinalists

Step 6

Search Committee interviews semifinalists and selects presidential finalists

Step 7

Presidential finalists announced

Step 8

Three to five finalists will be announced publicly following interviews with the search committee. Finalists will visit Utah Tech campus for public forums and interviews with key stakeholder groups on Wednesday, February 26 (specific times and locations will be shared when finalists are announced).

Step 9

On Friday, February 28, the Utah Board of Higher Education will interview finalists on campus. The Board is expected to announce its decision later that evening during a public meeting held on campus.
