Google Drive to Google Drive

This will be an explanation on how to move files from your old Dixie Google Drive to your new Utah Tech Google Drive.

Step 1

Sign into Dixie Google Account

Go to Google.com and click “Sign-in” in the upper right corner of the screen

  • If you are already signed in or signed in under another account, make sure you are using the correct account

This will be your digital-id@dixie.edu, digital-id@dmail.dixie.edu, or both depending on what you want to migrate. This works for either account.

Step 2

Open Google Drive

  1. Click on the application button
  2. Click “Drive

Step 3

Select and Download

  • Select all documents you want to transfer over
    • TIP: Ctrl + A  will select all documents in the folder
  • Right click on one of the documents, choose “Download

Step 4

How the File are Saved

Files will be downloaded in a .zip file format to your computer’s Downloads folder

Step 5

Sign into Utah Tech Google Account

  1. Open a new tab
  2. Click on your account in the top-left
  3. Click “Add another account
  4. Follow the sign in prompts

Step 6

Open Utah Tech Drive

  1. Click on the application button
    Click “Drive

Step 7

Find your Files in Downloads

Open a File Explorer window and open your “Downloads” folder

When your Drive download is complete, you will see a folder similar to this one, right click on it and extract the files from the zip folder

Step 8

Drag Files to Utah Tech Google Drive

You should now have your old Drive download folder open (Left) and your new Utah Tech Google Drive open (Right)

Highlight all of the items (Ctrl + A) in your old Drive download folder and click and drag them over to the Utah Tech Google folder.

Step 9

Upload Process

Once you drag them over, the upload process will begin.

NOTE: This may take some time if you have a lot of files to transfer.
