Utah Tech Presidential Search Finalists Announced
The Utah Tech Presidential Search Committee has recommended three finalists to the Utah Board of Higher Education for the position of Utah Tech University president: Philip A. Cavalier, Steven J. Hafen, and Shane B. Smeed.

The finalists will be on Utah Tech University’s campus on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, to meet with groups representing faculty, staff, students, trustees, and administration. Each finalist will participate in a public forum on the afternoon of Feb. 24, where attendees from the Utah Tech community and the general public will have the opportunity to ask questions of the candidates.

We invite all of you to the official announcement of the 19th president of Utah Tech University, pending final approval from the Utah Board of Higher Education. The announcement will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Zion Room of the Holland Centennial Commons. A welcome reception will immediately follow the announcement in the fourth-floor lobby.
